Need a Little Joy Maintenance? 🎄Hope for the Holidays

Hope for the Holidays

Are you already juggling the emotions and expectations of the Holidays this year?  I certainly am. Last year, I gave a class at Modern Prairie for women on learning how to navigate the holidays when you’ve experienced loss.

At the time, I didn’t know that my mother would die just 4 days after the class.

I believe in miracles, and this was one of them. It’s a perfect example of how my mind, body, and soul began to prepare me for grief as the holidays began…. I had spent weeks writing the syllabus for the course. I even created a journaling worksheet to help with transitions.

I wanted to help others, and yet I didn’t know I was helping myself.

I’d like to think the universe had my back. At mom’s age of 96, it was due to happen at any time, but still… is there any right time to lose a parent?

A few days before, my mom had said she was ready to be with my dad. She said, “If I don’t wake up, it’s just fine with me.

And so she did what she wanted. Her heart was ready to cross over and meet my dad.

After many tears, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I challenged myself to make that holiday season meaningful, heartfelt, and joyful. And so I did.

Now… this year….

I want to invite you to join me for “joy maintenance.”

Modern Prairie has asked me to do a repeat presentation of Hope for the Holidays this coming weekend, Sunday, Nov 19, at 4:00 pm Pacific and 7:00 pm Eastern. It’s a FREE ZOOM event… we want you there!

THE GREAT NEWS is… My best friend, actress, and author, Melissa Gilbert will be joining me! You’ll hear some fun stories from our past, especially hers from Little House on the Prairie!

I’m hoping this one-hour (or more!) class will help prepare you or someone else for the holidays. It’s not just for grievers but for those of us who have jumbled stresses and obligations as we organize the month! I’ll be sharing:

  • tools and tips for navigating the holidays
  • A new tradition of gift-giving
  • dealing with crazy family issues
  • honoring people who have died in a positive way.

I’ll also be addressing:

  • loneliness
  • life after loss
  • divorce
  • and numerous other life transitions that take us by surprise.

I would like to ease your pain… ease your struggle… and help you think about new ways to honor the holidays with grace and ease. We’ll have fun doing it together!

Will you join me?

Just click on this link to sign up for the Zoom event: Hope for the Holidays.

Once you sign up, you’ll get an email with a link to get onto the Zoom event when it begins, on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 4:00 pm Pacific, 7:00 pm Eastern.

I can’t wait to see you there!

Best wishes and joy,

Sandy
